Bar Olympics 3
Bar Olympics Returns to Pilot Project Brewing!
For our third installment of Bar Olympics, we have found inspiration from the global hit Netflix show, Squid Game!
All teams will play in the very games that Squid Game competitors risked their lives in throughout the two seasons of the show: Red Light - Green Light, Tug of War, and Dalgona aka "The Honeycomb Game" (circle, triangle, star, umbrella). Plus, the top four teams will replay the entire 6-Legged Relay Race from Season 2 Episodes 4-5!
In addition to the Squid Game challenges, this event is LOADED with Midwest American favorites: Flip Cup, Ping Pong, Pickleball Pong and more! (Scroll below for the full lineup of games)!
Space is very limited!
Join solo or register with friends as you compete in a night of bar games where the top three teams will go home with actual medals!
ALL TEAMS WILL COMPETE IN THE FOLLOWING GAMES:
Red Light - Green Light:
We will be creating two outdoor (bring your jacket) Red Light, Green Light arenas. Using the authentic sound effects from Squid Game, you will attempt to cross the finish line in 5 minutes or less without moving whenever "Red Light" is called.
Move when you should be still and you will be shot with a Nerf gun. Cross the finish line to receive points for your team.
Dalgona aka "The Honeycomb Game":
Circle, Triangle, Star, Umbrella. Each player in Bar Olympics 3 will be given a tin containing one of these stamped into the candy. Because we all know that the triangle is the easiest, tin cans will be provided at random and your shape will be based on luck.
All players will be brought into a large room and handed a tin at random. A clock will begin to countdown. Using the provided tool, each player must cut out their shape without cracking the design. Meanwhile, our staff will be walking around with Nerf guns waiting to eliminate players who fail.
If you are eliminated, your team will earn zero points for your efforts and you will be asked to leave the room. Successfully present your cut out shape to our staff to score points for your team.
Tug of War Tournament:
While you won't be hundreds of feet in the air facing your death like Gi-hun, you and your teammates will be on a 1-story high catwalk attempting to pull your end of a 100-foot rope while tugging your opponents over the center line. Teams will compete in a best of 3, bracketed tournament to see if they would fair well in an actual Squid Game together!
Flip Cup Tournament (Water Edition):
In Bar Olympics 1 and 2, Flip Cup was reserved for the top 4 teams.
Players made it VERY clear to us that they wanted Flip Cup to be a game for everyone! We are bringing the tables and providing everyone with a cup so that they may compete in a best of 3, single elimination Flip Cup tournament throughout the night!
Ping Pong Tournament:
Compete in an all-night bracketed Ping Pong tournament! Each team can send 2 pairs of players into the tournament. Doubles Ping Pong. First to 11. Points awarded to the teams of the top 3 pairs!
Family Feud:
At the Inaugural Bar Olympics, Family Feud was a smash hit! It received the highest rating from players. Obviously, we had to bring it back!Â
However, this time, we are adding more game boards for each team!
Each team will elect a 5-member family to compete in a best of 5 Family Feud match!
Pickleball Pong Tournament:
America's favorite drinking sport meets America's favorite college drinking game!
Picture this: A pickleball net sitting in the middle of the Pickleball kitchen. On each side of the net (in the kitchen) are 6 buckets shaped like a pyramid. Both teams will volley the pickleball back and forth as they attempt to hit the ball into each of their opponent's buckets! Whenever the pickleball lands in a bucket, the bucket is removed. Each team may re-rack 1 time during the game!
Each team will select two pairs to compete in this tournament!
Arcade Basketball Tournament:
One of the surprise player favorites from Bar Olympics 2 was Arcade Basketball. In Arcade Basketball, you and your teammate have a set amount of time to score as many points as possible! Score more points than your opponent to advance to the next round!
Each team will get two entries into this tournament!
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:
After all 8 games are completed, the Top 4 Teams (based on cumulative points) will advance to the final game:
6-Legged Relay Race from Squid Game Season 2 Episodes 4-5:
All 4 teams will compete in a timed challenge. Teams will receiveÂ
Each team will split into two groups of 4. Players will select the one game they will play in their group:
DDAKJI - One red square. 1 blue square. The player must throw the square at the ground to make it flip. The very game used to recruit players into Squid Game.
Biseokchigi - One rock rests on the floor. The player must throw another rock at the resting rock. If they miss, the entire team must walk together to retrieve the throwing rock, return to the starting line, and throw. This process is repeated until the player can knock over the resting rock.
Gong-Gi - Start by throwing one cube into the air. Before catching the one in the air, pick a second cube off the floor. Repeat this until all four cubes are caught. The player then must put all four cubes on the top of their hand, flip them into the air, and catch all four in one motion to advance.
Paeng-y (Spinning Tops) - Prepare a winding rope around a top with a needle. With one swift motion, unwind the rope so that the top continues to spin by itself on the floor.
Jebi Kicks (Korean Hacky Sack) - Kick the hacky sack 3 times in the air before your team begins their sprint to the finish line!
Tie Breaker Game (in case there is a tie to get into the top-4):
MKE SS Trivia:
In the event of a tie to claim the 4th Seed in the finals (it has happened), one member from each team will be asked to compete in trivia about Milwaukee Sports and Social. The winning team will be entered into the finals!
PLEASE NOTE: While most games will require a drink in hand, players are encouraged to drink responsibly and utilize water in place of alcohol throughout the evening.Â
All attendees must be 21 or older to participate.
We strongly encourage players to not drive to this event! Points will be given for those who use a ride share!
