We Are A Social League
The spirit of Milwaukee Sports and Social is to be a fun, social, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
This is not a competitive league.
While nearly every player is kind and wonderful, we have developed the following 2-Layer Policy to safeguard our players and staff from rare individuals who take the game too seriously and kill the fun vibe for everyone:
LAYER 1: SPORTSMANSHIP WARNINGS
This 3-Strike Policy is enforced in all of our leagues. Any player exhibiting behavior that is deemed by Milwaukee Sports and Social staff to be negative, childish, or toxic will be issued a Sportsmanship Policy Warning.
If a player receives 2 warnings in a single game, they will be ejected from the game with no financial recourse.
If a player receives 3 cumulative warnings in a single season, they will be kicked out of the league with no financial recourse and they will be given a lifetime ban from all Milwaukee Sports and Social leagues and events.
LAYER 2: TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP GRADES
Each week, our referees will issue each team a Team Sportsmanship Grade. These grades will range between 1-5 (5 being a great team experience, 1 being a very negative team experience). These grades will be sent to our headquarters. At the completion of the Regular Season, a team must have an average grade of 3.75 or higher in order to be added to the playoff bracket. If a team fails to make the playoffs due to their score, there will be no financial recourse to the team or individual players to make up the missed game opportunity.
NOTE: All Team Sportsmanship Grades are kept internally. Please do not ask your referee post-game.
Behavior That Will Result in a Warning & Lowered Team Score:
- FIGHTING WITH A REF
- SWEARING AT PLAYERS
- ARGUING CALLS
- GENERAL WHINING
- DELAYING A GAME
- CHILDISH BEHAVIOR
- TOXIC ATTITUDE
- DRUG USE ON OR NEAR THE FIELD
- ANY OTHER ACTIONS OUR STAFF DETERMINES TO BE NEGATIVE
Behavior That Will Result in an Immediate Ejection and Lifetime Ban from Future Leagues and Events:
- THREATS OF VIOLENCE TO OPPOSING PLAYERS, TEAMMATES, OR MILWAUKEE SPORTS AND SOCIAL STAFF
- PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FIST FIGHTS, SHOVING, SLAPPING, (OR ANYTHING ELSE OUR STAFF DEEMS VIOLENT)
If a player is ejected for any of the above actions, they will not receive any financial recourse.
Milwaukee Sports and Social staff members meet frequently to discuss ideas to improve our leagues. As such, Milwaukee Sports and Social reserves the right to ban players after the conclusion of the season if their overall actions, attitude and behavior are not in line with the culture we work diligently to uphold.
ADMINISTRATIVE WARNINGS:
In the event that multiple players contact our staff either via email or in person about a player or team who was violating our sportsmanship policy on the court, Milwaukee Sports and Social's administrative staff reserves the right to email players before their next game to issue a Sportsmanship Warning.
When issued, the warning will carrying into the upcoming week. Meaning, the player will begin their next game with 1 warning on them. If they receive a single warning, they will be ejected from the game with no financial recourse.
In the event our administrative team issues a warning that becomes the player's third warning on the season, the player will be removed from the league with no financial recourse and banned from all future Milwaukee Sports and Social leagues.
ADMINISTRATIVE RULINGS:
Milwaukee Sports and Social reserves the right to suspend a player from one or multiple games in a single season, if the staff determines their actions or behavior warrant a temporary removal from the league to avoid future conflicts amongst players and teams. Suspended players will receive no financial recourse for the games they miss as a result of a suspension.
TOURNAMENT ENFORCEMENT:
We hold our tournament players to the same high standards. However, given the condensed nature of a tournament, a player will be given a single warning and informed that if they do something that goes against our policy (or kills the vibe of the event) one more time, they will be ejected immediately. Once ejected, they are eliminated from the tournament with no financial recourse.
The average team is awesome, social, and super fun! In turn, we have these rules in place to assure our leagues maintain the happy, fun atmosphere players throughout Milwaukee have grown to love!
